Clergy Wellness Group
Transfiguration Episcopal Church
Clergy all too often do not have a safe place to spiritually feed their vocation and receive support for the stresses and difficulties of ministry. The Rev. Channing Smith and his wife Mary, a psychotherapist, will co-facilitate this clergy wellness group. The first portion of the meeting will allow for contemplation and prayer through Lectio Divina. The second section will allow participants to share and receive support for the pressures of ministry.
The group will meet from 3-5 pm on the first Thursday of the month at Transfiguration Episcopal Church, San Mateo. The 2008-2009 schedule is:

There is no charge for this group. All clergy are welcome.
The Rev. Channing Smith has been the Rector of Transfiguration Episcopal Church in San Mateo for the past 11 years. Channing has led prayer groups and discernment groups for several years.
Mary Richards, MA, MFT, has been a psychotherapist for the last 9 years in Palo Alto and San Francisco. She received her Masters from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She has training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction through University of Massachusetts Hospital.
